If you do decide to go ahead with treatment, a patch test would be required at least 24 hours prior to your first session - this can be completed at the same time as your consultation or separately.
Please note, laser hair removal is not suitable if you are pregnant, have used fake tan products within the previous two weeks or have had recent sun / sunbed exposure.
During laser hair removal, a concentrated beam of laser light is passed over the treatment area. The light from the laser is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and converted into heat energy. The heat created damages the hair follicle and reduces its ability to produce a new hair. As your course progresses, there should be a noticeable reduction in the number of hairs produced after every treatment and those that do come through should be finer.
Laser hair removal is only successful on dark hairs that have enough pigment in them. If the hairs you are looking to treat are white/grey, blonde or red it may be that electrolysis is a more appropriate long-term solution for you.
